We are seeking a detail-oriented Fiber Optic Technician to install, maintain, and repair fiber optic networks for high-speed internet, telecommunications, and data services. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fiber optic systems and be committed to delivering exceptional service while adhering to safety standards and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Setup
Install, splice, and terminate fiber optic cables for both underground and aerial systems.
Set up and configure network equipment, including switches, routers, and optical devices.
Conduct fiber optic testing using OTDRs, power meters, and visual fault locators to ensure network quality.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Diagnose and resolve issues related to fiber connectivity, signal loss, and equipment failures.
Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to optimize network performance.
Inspect and replace damaged cables, enclosures, and hardware components.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and testing results.
Prepare detailed reports on system performance and any corrective actions taken.
Update network diagrams and documentation as needed.
Customer Support
Provide technical support and guidance to clients on fiber optic systems.
Address customer concerns promptly and ensure service satisfaction.
Educate customers on system functionality and preventive maintenance tips.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all safety protocols and industry standards to ensure a safe working environment.
Comply with regulatory requirements during installations and service operations.
Use protective equipment and adhere to company policies on job sites.
