Drill/Bore Operators
Responsibilities:
• Perform HDD work activities in adherence to job specifications and customer requirements while continuously monitoring site for changing safety conditions.
• Conduct maintenance on assigned fleet equipment and maintain service documents.
• Provide assistance, training, and supervision to HDD operators and laborers to enhance skills and proficiency.
• Ensure strict adherence to safe equipment usage practices and company requirements.
• Manage a team of 3 or more employees effectively.
• Complete required paperwork daily, including timesheets, production reports, incident reports, vehicle reports, and others as necessary.
• Train crew members in accordance with company safety policies.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with installation standards.
• Fulfill any other duties assigned by the Foreman.
Desired Qualifications
Ability to safely work aloft using climbing hooks, ladders, and bucket lifts
Possess a valid driver’s license, CDL preferred
Basic knowledge of and ability to operate various types of utility trucks and equipment in a safe manner
Basic knowledge of and ability of hand tools and equipment in a safe manner
Ability to communicate effectively with employees
Willing and able to work in all weather conditions
Ability to climb telephone poles and work in a bucket truck and work aloft and climb poles up to 40 feet
Able to lift/carry 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. as needed with or without assistance
The employee will need to have the ability to stand for long periods of time, tolerate work in extreme weather conditions, speak and hear worksite safety instructions, withstand prolonged and repeated: lifting, standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, feeling, crouching, and crawling.
Safely operate mechanized equipment such as utility and bucket trucks
Setting up safety perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriers
Familiar with NESC rules and guidelines
This position operates in an outdoor environment and is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme cold, rain, sleet, snow, humidity, high temperatures, and high wind
Travel is required for this position
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
2+ Years Experience as a Drill or Bore Operator
Commercial driver's license (CDL), preferred
Excellent analytical and organizational skills
Able to work under mildly safe and uncomfortable conditions where exposure to environmental factors such as temperature variations, odors, and toxic agents
Able to exert heavy physical effort in moderate to heavy work
Dependable, flexibility to work weekends, as needed
Work independently under minimal supervision
Ability to read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for project build process
Requirements:
Must be able to lift 75-100 pounds
Travel is required
