Qualifications
Proven experience in coax splicing (aerial and underground), Ability to read schematics and use splicing/test equipment, Knowledge of coaxial systems and troubleshooting, Valid driver’s license; ability to work at heights and lift 50 lbs. Strong attention to detail, safety focus, and teamwork skills.
Other Requirements
Viavi 630 with 204 diplex required. Minimum one bucket truck required per crew.
Job Description
This project will upgrade systems from 42 MHz/750 MHz to 204 MHz/1.2 GHz.
The system is in Eastern Iowa. All necessary materials and designs will be provided for this project.
The Labor items to support this project are as follows.
o Remove and replace existing nodes and install new PHY nodes. Assumes existing fiber
pigtails will be re-used. In the event a tail will need to be changed out fiber splicers prepared to replace during the node cut over
o Module swap of all active devices.
o Remove all in-line equalizers.
o Replace all passives where recommended by design
- Some passives will require full splice.
- Most passives will simply require a faceplate change
o The system will be fine balanced
- Full scan on the input and output of all actives
- Return 4 point sweep (up to 4 points if needed) for all actives
- Full scan at the EOL’s
- Return 4 point sweep (up to 4 points if needed) at the EOL’s
? Provide hand drawn as-built map.
? Plant Discrepancy Reports (PDR)
- Sub-standard cable
- Missing map information if found
- Damaged plant
