We have a full-time need for an Operator Driller/Locator. The Operator is responsible for safely operating the directional drilling, plowing, and other construction endeavors by GridSource Incorporated, LLC. The responsibilities include but are not limited to, understanding elevation changes and make informed decisions on depths to drill at to avoid hitting underground utilities.
What you will do:
Operate the drill rig efficiently and effectively.
Locate the drill head from one point to another without hitting any utilities at the correct depth.
Inspects and fuels vehicle prior to beginning of the employee’s shift.
Exhibit the ability to learn and independently operate equipment used at facility.
Experience in caring and using all site specific, facility required Personal Protection Equipment.
Display qualities for working in a team environment and ability to learn additional tasks and assume new responsibilities.
Have and maintain up-to-date knowledge of technological developments in the industry.
Effectively communicate with other departments to handle escalating issues in a timely manner.
Function as an effective team member while supporting the efforts and concepts of other departments.
Support the mission, vision, and values of GridSource, LLC.
Apply personal ethics, honesty, initiative, flexibility, responsibility, and confidentiality in all areas of responsibility.
Possess an enthusiastic, energetic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented approach towards work and all work projects.

What you will need:
High school diploma or GED required. Some college or vocational training preferred.
NCTI, SCTE and/or other broadband certification preferred.
Previous experience in the broadband industry required.
Must have a working knowledge of construction, the National Electrical Code, OSHA regulations, state and local regulations and general safety standards.
Class A license.
1 year experience working in an operating position. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or carry loads of up to 95 lbs.
Required to lift 32-foot ladder.
The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
Required to work within limited confines, such as crawl spaces, as needed.
While performing the duties of this job, the Employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The Employee must be able to work in an outdoor environment year around in all weather conditions. The Employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock, radiation, and vibration.
Employees may be required to work more than 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands.
