Job Description
Swift Communications, LLC, a leader in fiber optic construction, is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Aerial and Burial Construction Inspector to join our team. This role will be essential in ensuring that all construction work meets industry standards and project requirements for both aerial and underground fiber optic installations.
Position Overview:
Work Duration: Minimum of 3 years
Location: Butte, MT (within a 1.5-hour radius) with expansion projects in Spokane, WA
Salary: $1,700 per week (salary position)
As an Aerial and Burial Construction Inspector, you’ll be responsible for monitoring and inspecting the work performed by contractors and crews to ensure compliance with project specifications, permits, and industry standards. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that the deployment process runs smoothly, that work is done according to the book, and that all phases of the build are on track.
Key Responsibilities:
Permit Evaluation: Review and evaluate construction permits to ensure accuracy and compliance with local regulations.
3rd Party Make-Ready: Oversee and check on 3rd party make-ready work, ensuring it's completed before project rollout.
NESC Standards Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in compliance with NESC (National Electrical Safety Code) standards (book will be provided).
Progress Monitoring: Monitor contractors' progress, ensuring all timelines are met, and quality is maintained throughout the construction process.
Quality Assurance: Inspect crews’ completed work and ensure it meets both Swift Communications' and the customer's requirements.
Make-Ready Inspections: Ensure all necessary make-ready work is completed and verified before splicing or other construction phases begin.
Reporting: Provide detailed reports and updates on contractor performance, progress, and compliance with project specs.
Required Qualifications:
Experience: 3+ years in construction or fiber optic infrastructure, specifically in aerial and underground fiber optic installations.
Knowledge of Standards: Working knowledge of NESC standards and requirements (training and a reference book will be provided).
Attention to Detail: Strong ability to inspect and verify compliance with construction permits, make-ready processes, and customer requirements.
Project Management: Capable of tracking multiple contractors and crews, providing feedback, and ensuring timelines are adhered to.
Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with both internal teams and external contractors to ensure smooth project flow.
