Description:
We're seeking an experienced Fiber Optic Technician to join our team for Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) installations in Catskill, NY, and surrounding areas. As a skilled technician, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-speed internet services to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Install, test, and maintain fiber optic networks for residential and commercial customers
- Perform FTTH installations, including fiber splicing, termination, and testing
- Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic systems
- Work with aerial and underground fiber optic cables
- Collaborate with other technicians and project managers to ensure efficient installation processes
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards
- Provide exceptional customer service
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in fiber optic installations and maintenance
- Knowledge of FTTH installation methods and procedures
- Experience with fiber splicing, termination, and testing equipment
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Valid driver's license
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with OTDR, fusion splicing, and fiber testing equipment
- Knowledge of local regulations and permitting requirements
- Supervisory or team lead experience
