Job Description
Wise Connect, Inc./ Gridsource is seeking a Plow Crew and Laborer.
Job consists of day-to-day cable plow work with various sized conduits for outside plant fiber networks. Most of our work is performed under master service agreements with telecom carriers and regional utilities. The work consists of new builds, maintenance, and restoration in rural and metro areas.
The scope of work varies between each job and candidates must be able to:
* Identify and pothole underground utilities, hand dig, operate cable plow
* Read prints and demonstrate good judgement in the field
* Work as a team in tandem with supervisor, manager, and other crew members
* Perform all duties adhering to company safety procedures and policies
Experience:
* Operating plow: 3 years
* Identifying existing utilities: 3 years
* Underground drop or construction work: 2 years
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Required to work within limited confines, such as crawl spaces, as needed.
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The employee must be able to work in an outdoor environment year around in all weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock, radiation, and vibration.
* Employees may be required to work more than 40 hours per week and outside normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands.
