Proven experience as a fiber splicer or similar role, proficiency in operating testing equipment and resolving challenges common to fiber optic networks strong understanding of fiber design, documentation, reading and knowledge of light levels and dB loss. Ability to work in outdoor utility construction sites, excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, strong communication and teamwork skills
Job Description
Test and troubleshoot continuity of fiber optic networks using various testing equipment.
Operate and maintain testing equipment, demonstrating proficiency in resolving challenges typical to fiber optic networks.
Experience with prepping fiber splice enclosures from manufacturers such as Tyco, CommScope, Corning, etc.
Utilize fusion splicer and test equipment including OTDR (Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer) , DWDM, CWDM, 945 OLTS, Max Tester, Power meter.
Apply fiber engineering knowledge to understand fiber design, read documentation, and comprehend light levels and dB loss.
Work efficiently on outdoor utility construction sites, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Prepare and splice both single-mode (SM) and multi-mode (MM) optical fiber cables.
Collaborate with team members to ensure the successful completion of projects within specified timelines.
