Job Description
• Collaborate in the strategic planning and analysis for new construction projects related to outside plant structures.
• Proficiently document proposed telecom equipment or sites through the use of measuring height sticks and wheels, ensuring accurate notes and measurements.
• Skillfully identify and document detailed information about outside plant (OSP) facilities, including cables, poles, ground structures, terminals, manholes, and equipment.
• Determine ownership, right-of-way, and permit requirements for proposed routes, leveraging experience and sound judgment to address complex issues.
• Engage in effective communication and attend meetings with city, county, and state permitting agencies.
• Translate measurements into precise field maps, presenting them professionally to customers.
• Generate site drawings and construction plans for various telecommunication facilities in a cost-effective manner.
• Manage and submit workload schedules to meet critical engineering design deadlines.
• Demonstrate the ability to traverse distances daily while carrying equipment in diverse weather conditions.
• Interpret and comprehend highway/road prints with proficiency.
• Utilize knowledge of easements, right-of-way, and permit documents.
• Represent the company in customer and utility meetings, embodying the highest standards of conduct, appearance, and attitude.
• Actively participate in and adhere to the company's Safety Program, completing all required training.
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight as needed for project requirements.
• Perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by management.
Pay: $20 - $28/hr
Minimum Requirements
• 2 years of experience in telecommunication outside plant (OSP) projects.
• Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate practical knowledge and understanding of OSP construction techniques.
• Have experience in OSP design, specifically in copper and fiber optic facilities, covering aerial, underground, and direct buried applications.
• Proficient in using MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with Katapult, Field Maps, or similar software is required.
