This position is hourly offering $18-30 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

Valid DL. Comfortable working outdoors. Able to carry between 60-80 lbs. We are looking specifically for candidates with drop, underground construction, overhead construction, fiber management, fiber splicing, cable or satellite installation experience etc.

Job Description

Position Summary:

The Primary responsibility of the Construction IP is to perform Construction services within individual capable skillset(s) such as but not limited to underground drop installation, overhead drop installations, splicing, stick boring, pneumatic boring, directional drill boring, trenching, operating mini skid steer, plowing, digging, gaffing, ladder work, for homes and businesses in a manner that aligns with the Company Culture, Mission, Vision, Values, Virtues, Policies, Procedures, while meeting Safety and Installation Quality standards and providing an exceptional delivery of service that reflects the Company Brand Standards.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for observance and compliance of all company safety rules, policies, and procedures.
Maintain an understanding of company policies & procedures
Performs skilled duties related to a capable skillset.
Manage worksite according to high safety standards, including setting up traffic control signage and following safety procedures with all work equipment
Uphold company conduct standards
Clean, maintain, and organize stock for company vehicles and prepare equipment to safely perform required duties and reflect the highest brand standards.
Meet Company Completion & Productivity Rate targets
Participate in field marketing efforts as directed by management.
Complete and maintain records as required, including completion of all required information on work orders to ensure details of work are recorded accurately for entry into Company systems.
Keep accurate records of materials used on a per job basis.
Complete work in accordance with Company Compliance requirements
Participate in ongoing educational opportunities in order to maintain current knowledge of fiber network operations, technology changes and matters as they relate to the position needs (will attend specified training classes and or seek certifications when required).
Make recommendations to the management regarding opportunities for process improvement and or problem resolution when independent action would exceed the scope of individual authority.
Maintain current knowledge of specifications and quality as provided by management.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of various technologies, devices, and equipment used in the course of the position’s normal responsibilities.
Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle both internally and externally.
Attend and engage in weekly IP meetings.
Meet company performance and production expectations as provided by management.
Perform other duties as assigned in order to fulfill the objectives of the company and this position

Skillset Specific Duties and Responsibilities


A: Splicing

Safely, efficiently splice cables in residential and commercial environments meeting all company and Partner specifications.
Performs skilled duties related to copper and fiber splicing, and preventive cable maintenance.
Splice copper and fiber cables in all environments (aerial, buried, underground and buildings) according to company specifications & quality standards.
Installation and dressing of fiber optic cables.
Prep and install both aerial and underground splice enclosures along with a variety of other closures common to the splicing and termination of fiber optic cables.
Ability to fusion or mechanical splice SM or MM fiber optic cables, to include terminating various types of fiber optic connectors (ST, SC, LC) as well as splice copper serve drops for homes and businesses.

B: Underground Drop

Safely, efficiently install underground cables in residential and commercial environments meeting all company and Partner specifications.
Use best practices for the installation of underground wiring so as not to violate local building codes.
Operate various trenching equipment such as a mini skid steer or walk beside trencher.
Locate existing buried copper and fiber facilities and comply with 811 requirements(OneCall) before any digging projects, properly identifying other utility flags and safely working around other utilities.
Load reel trailers with strand, fiber, or cable as required.
Bury cable and conduit systems, by operating blowing, plowing, digging, boring, and trenching equipment and pulling fiber and cable through conduit systems.

C: Overhead Drop

Safely, efficiently install overhead cables in residential and commercial environments meeting all company and Partner specifications.
Use best practices for the installation of underground wiring so as not to violate local codes and regulations or customer’s specs.
Load reel trailers with strand, fiber, or cable as required.
Hang overhead cable or strand using various methods including but not limited to a ladder, bucket truck or gaffs.
Pull fiber and cable through conduit systems.
