Greg you hit the nail on the head, We can Simulate this by
applying a forward transmitter on a node which is under construction. Lets say the splicer was 50% complete with a node in which he started from the node out toward the eol's and the
550 mhz equipment ahead of him . The forward transmitter in the headend are allowing Freqs above 550 for the new system
this will cause a huge Hump In the response.

This also will occur when old cable and or Equipment cant pass
the amplitude of the forward path.

this can also occur if the Agc is improperly set
The hump will become more profound as the cascade continues.(dizzy)
