Make sure your splicers are not touching the screws inside the module. The seizure mechanism for these nodes are self seizing your pin should be 1 1/2" =/- 1/16' if they are to long you will have a short, if the mechanism is loose you may get an arc and cause your problems 8 amps is a pretty good current draw and a shortrd pin connector may cause problems.
