The power supply is the same but the housing of the power supply is not the same, so you could't install the MB PS in a SG-1000. The optical return transmitter are not the same either and are placed inside the RF module now not inside the housing next to the P S. You now have  three types of return transmitter, one with -4.0 dBm, one with 0.0 dBm and one with + 3.0 dBm output. The SG-1000 is also available with GaAs or Silicone IC now. It is a much better unit event if the NB-750 was not a bad unit either.
