Just want to swing this by you guys in telephony we are looking for an answer.During the winter about 17 degrees or lower we have a very exaggerated problem with a wide band noise floor, from baseband it graduates up to about 20meg and slopes off at our reverse amp total bandwidth down to the diplexers cut off. It was thought to be a problem with Magnavox taps but we have also seen it with other taps, if you take off ac or replace a tap in question it will go away I think it has something to do with the foil composition of the ac blocking capacitors in the tap itself. Some of our staff in now looking to Alpha
(Power Supplies) for answers, any of you cable junkies know something.
20 meg tap noise in telephony<in the cold>??
