I am assuming that when you referred to his "piece of pie", you were thinking more along the lines of this being the guy's "girlfriend" as opposed to wife because though it is NOT right or expected of a contractor to pay for someone he hires AND his wife, I see nothing wrong with bringing your WIFE along on jobs thereafter. With out my wife, it has been ALOT easier to do my payroll/books and taxes...and I dont really look at her like a PIECE OF PIE! Have some respect!
> It all depends what type of agreement you had when you hired him on! My husband and I have worked all over the country both together and seperately and at no time have we ever expected a company to pay for the other if not employed by them! What's next feed and cloth her too? Hey I know, why not just start cutting her a per deim check! If your cry baby can't work without his piece of pie on the road and go home every few weeks then he's in the wrong business and needs to work in-house somewhere at home!

We have covered for hotels for a month and then payed for the first month rent in the apartments, but not for the girlfriends. I'm getting complaints from one guy that I'm not doing what other companies are doing and that I should pay for the girlfriend since that's their family and I'm taking them away from home (even though he's been on the road for 2 years.) I'd like to know what other companies are doing. Thank you.
