sub splicing lic in Miami

I'm trying to get a subcontractors lic in miami for splicing and the ones they tell me that are available require like 5 yrs experience total plus you need to take several exams. Does anyone know if there is another lic i can get in miami that will cover the work i do? Any help will be appreciated- thanks
