I am a user of the Tektronics (Now Tempo) TV220. It has the Test Wizard which makes the unit "idiot proof". It will download onto your PC. Shoots 12,000 ft and I can throw mine across a floor and it will still keep ticking. There is also the smaller version, the TV90 which will shoot 4000 ft, is battery operated and I have personally dropped mine from 18 feet, off a pole, and it kept humping. I can shoot you a pdf on both if you like. I'm an old pole humper/ditch-digger/splicer now in sales ( don't ask) and I have put hundreds out there....good luck with your search.
