The .500 MC2 slotted disk cable will create a condition known a periodicity meaning the distance between disks in the cable will cause a frequency trap, verify that you do not have a suckout at the digital carrier frequency. You may contact the cable manufacturer and they can tell you where these mold spikes as they are sometimes refered to will fall in the frequency response of a cable you may need to know the year it was manufactured.
