Re: Remember when

I do remember.
Going home late with a kink in my neck from keeping a close eye on my lineman. The difference between a bugnut and a weaver and when to have one ready to go (always monkeys). How to load a lasher and splice .412 in the same span. Not boxing poles. Being allowed to have a few beers on the back of the truck in the yard while building the next days equipment. Having the truck that needed to be kicked all the way home because I was the new guy. When I had the bosses home number and was EXPECTED to call often with out of town updates. Doing what was right not for the money but because you could count on the money. Learning before doing and doing while learning from someone who would throw a bugnut back at you for not paying attention to what was going on up there. Not being allowed to splice actives on the first day of my new job. Working for MSO's that had techs that knew what areas I worked in and knew most of their problems had been taken care of by my upgrade crew. Having a job I want to go to on those cold, dark, early mornings. Not knowing that you could actually get paid for being sick. Having a Job. But most of all, I remember having someone to send to that ivy covered monster. Tap roots as big as a wrist and not stopping until it hit the power horizontals.

Anything in the Buffalo, NY area would be nice.
