Maybe you should go thought the legal channels to find your daughters father. Yes he should be 100% responsibale for her. But looks like he does not want to be found. The ones that know where to find him are not any better than he is for not helping you out. Yes there are scumbags out there and he is one of them.
But please do not put the rest of the cable guys in the same category as him.
I am also a wife of a cable guy of 30 years and he is a wonderful faithful husband and a great father to our two sons. My youngest son is following in his fathers footsteps.
I also work at the same company as they do and I can list more good honest caring husbands and fathers there. In my seven years working in the cable industry myself, I've only met one or two scumbags. I've seen more secretaries persuing the guys so don't blame just the guys, for the most part they see the $'s that the guys make and I do believe this is all they are interested in. In all honesty the females are the biggest culprits.
I understand you are financially capable of supporting your daughter yourself. I think this is great, but he should have to support her also. You may need it years down the road and if something should happen to you she should be taken care of. Bank it for now in a trust fund for your daughter.
Does his wife know about you? You said she is expecting a baby. There is another life this scumbag is going to ruin. He doesn't seem to care whose life he is going to ruin. So my advice to you is he is not worth it. Your daughter is better off without him.

I'm just asking you to not put all the guys in the same category as he is. Give it time you'll find a good guy out there you deserve it and so does your daughter.
