Do NOT tape record a conversation until you check your state laws on that matter. You could end up breaking privacy laws.
My advice is to stay tight with the new prime & do your work as best as possible. Keep {or make} records of contact with all parties involved along with a copy of the contracts from both old & new primes. Most lawyers will consult once for free. I have made appointments with 3 to 6 lawyers in different areas to discuss a matter & it allows me to weigh the options I have.
> I worked for a company for 5 years. The last year we have struggled to break even but hung in. We restructured our staff, purchased an additional vehicle to make it work, but just could not get enough work to support it. It was not the primes fault. Then I made a contact with another prime in the area paying substantially more. This contract was for rebuild with a different MSO than I had worked for under the old prime. My former prime has a contract with that MSO now as well. I told them what I had found and asked if they could match prices. They declined. So I completed my work and shook hands thanking them for all they did for me and my staff.
> Now they are harassing the other prime we were to work for saying they are stealing their manpower when in fact I never worked under this new MSO. The old prime has made it political within the MSO. Politically the new prime is now staying out of it and this has left me holding on and waiting for who knows how long. I don't blame the new prime.
> So I spoke with the old prime owner asking for a letter of recommendation and he said it wasn't in his best interest to do that even though we were honest, forthright, and did an overall great job.
> Does anyone have any suggestions or past experience with a similar situation? I would greatly appreciate any input!
