Yeah, you heard right. He was killed in a head-on with a lumber truck on hiway 101 just outside of Legget Ca. ( about 175 miles north of San Francisco ). Jan still lives in Wa. His daughter and grandkids are in Eureka Ca. His brother Paul is in Santa Rosa Ca. last I heard, and his brother Richard died in Thialand about ten years ago when him and Steve were in Australia teaching the Aussie's how to splice. Steve was one of the good ones that will be missed by many in the business.
