ANY LINEMEN DEALT WITH DISABILITY,I'D LIKE HEAR IT

Any information or comments you'd like to share regarding both dealing with Social Security Admin. Temporary, meaning more than a year to recovery & return to job, or permanent. Or comments about injury, & how do deal with loss of career. Any input dealing witSSDI/MEDICAID issues, I really appreciate it. Describing the physical abilities required by a LINEMAN info also useful. In case vocational retraining is an option. LINEMAN noted as career usually conjures visions of a telephone line repair tech with aligotor clips & a buttset.
Those of you who've dealt with the SSA process previously might be able to enlighten me with your thoughts. Does anyone know what specific words are required to get thier attention?
I know after some more healing he & his lineman attitude will climb again. Just not as profession. That is hard enough to swallow for him. And so is playing the waiting game with SSA.
To any that do respond, thanks for your time & efforts!
