The best way to protect yourself is documentation. I work for Cable One and it seems we all pay for useless events like you mention. When you do an install do the subs have to sign a work order? If they do make a note that everything was working fine when you left. One thing I have learned is some people were ment to have computers some weren't! My heart is with you man I have been doing this for four years and seen many claims paid for no reason other than to keep the sub happy. I say piss on the sub and let them straighten there own mess out. I have been told my modem blew a computer up! BS! No way for it to happen. You need a tech op manager with balls and he would help to protect you.
