Your project and efforts have merit. Constructive in-put is what you are looking for and I am sure you will find some here, but I have a suggestion. The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE)( www.scte.org )thrives on these kinds of projects. Within this organization you can organize a committee of interested members (engineers, project managers, contractors, etc.) and meet several times a year at regional trade shows. They have these kinds of things going on all the time. Good luck.
