Go see http://www.trilithic.com and have a look at the 9580SST and 9580 SSR. This is a bi-directionnal system, where you can adjust the return system and look for ingress from each NODE or Amp in the system. The system send 8 return carrier from 5 to 42 MHz and talk back to you on a carrier between 50 to 52 MHz or 72 to 74 MHZ on the forward path. The 9580 SST at the headend is also a 5 to 42 MHz digitizer, where you see the whole return band all at the same time, not as part of it like the other system, where they are using a spectrum to have a look at the return ingress.
