Re: IMPEDANCE - ALON

You're on track there bucko. You probably want to include the variances of the mean ambient temperature too. In fact, everytime a freekn' critter knaws into that delicous cable jacket and dents the aluminum you've a (Potentially)new spike to deal with. How about them there bend radius' when you HE-man handle your forms without the board. How about makn' that cable form to fit inside the undersized pedestal. Every instance described above plus.....will contribute to minor variations in the resistance ratio. Here's one suggestion:

Get yourself a lazyboy, 50' of RG-6, and a fancy HP Anal-izer and sit back and watch yourself some good ole' (Scope)TV this coming Sunday. I'm sure you'll be able to chart record a few dips here and there from them ole' 75Ohm materials.

Actually, I believe that the 75 Ohm number is used as a design and speculation reference model enabling fairly precise calculation(s) on propagation (VOP), signal attenuation, and loop loss resistance with regard to current and voltage.

Just my opinion, I could be (most probably) wrong.

> You asked what the impedance was and he said 75 ohm. There is no "usually" about it. It's either 75. 74, 76. Whatever. It will vary a little. This is why your equip will be rated with return loss ratings, to show how close to a true 75 ohm device. This will depend on the manufacturer and model, if you want to know what those ratings are, consult your manuals.
