It is obvious from your message that you are quite unintelligent so I will try to keep it simple enough for your small mind to comprehend.
1. It costs money to transport people and equipment.
2. As a contractor I keep unneeded resourses available for other projects.
3. As a proffesional I make sure to define the scope of work clearly so that I have what I need and don't waste money with things I'm not going to use.
In closing I asked you specificly about the scope of work and tools needed to complete this job and you LIED. It is as simple as that. I feel an obligation to let others in this industry not get screwed by people like you... It happens way to often, cabl.com allows us a forum to look out for each other and that is what I am doing for may fellow contractors. Maybe the next time I look at an out of town job one of my fellows will warn me. This is how we help each other. I will say again to any contractor looking at this. Don't go to the 'box swap' in Accomac. Peter also is running a project in Suffolk, VA I wouldn't dream of going there either.
Good luck to anyone looking for work trying to feed their family.
> IVE YOU HAVE LADDERS AND YOUR IN THE BIZ WHETHER YOUR DOING UNDERGROUND MDU BOX JOB WOULDNT U THINK OF BEING PREPARED FOR ANY OTHER TYPE OF WORK THAT MIGHT HAVE OPENED UP I KNOW I SURE WOULD YOU SHOULD WATCH WHAT U SAY WHEN WHAT YOUR SAYING TOTALLY CONTRADICTS ANYTHING IN THE BIZ LIKE MAYBE U MIGHT HAVE A BAD DROP AT MAYBE JUST ONE HOUSE OUT OF MAYBE 300-400 HOUSES YOU MIGHT DECIDE TO VISIT ANY THE BOX JOB WILL GO ON SORRY FOR YOUR MISTAKE

I spoke with him on three different occasions to verify the scope of this work. Each time he told me it was a box swap and nothing else. The final time I spoke with him before heading out of town I verified that all we would need were hand tools for cutting jumpers. Peter verified that this was all our crews would need. 649 miles later we arrived in Accomac, VA. The first question we were asked before starting this so called 'box swap' was "Where is your extension ladder?" I called Peter because I assumed this was a mistake and there was some kind of misunderstanding. He acted like I was a fool for being a cable guy with no extension ladder. I have four, I don't transport unnecessary equipment. Let's face it we are all contractors and most of us have been through this kind of thing before. If someone has to lie to get you in town it will only go downhill from there. I'll cut my losses and turn around. I just don't want anyone else to get caught by this scam. You have been warned.
