Some words of wisdom, First get a set of system prints when you get an outage locate the common point on the map. the saying goes use your head not your back. when you get to a location check everything at that location you need three things A/C, D/C, RF. In today's systems many amplifiers use power shunts which means a short will travel back to the power supply a good OHM meter with a continuity test a beep tone will help greatly. There are so many possabilities it is hard to list them. so jump in and good luck.
> about to start running outage calls. Are there any quick checkpoints or does anyone have some good advice on how to quickly start finding outage problems? From what I'm told, I'll get the phonecall from the MSO's operations center, and they'll give me a handfull of addresses. I've done a good bit of everything in the HFC world, but never had to respond to outages and get them up in such a timely fashion. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
