For once you said something that made so sense wifeofacableguy well said farmer1 I could not agree with you more, it is beyond me that any one that anyone that has integrity would even think about working for such a rate but what do i know i can go back to any employer i have worked for and because of my integrity i get called by past employer and employees to work for them and as far as why I look at these job posting I get an idea of what companys are about and yours i can say if you prove anything to it would be that I have pity for your husband I have not once put your integrity on the line but it i were to pass a judgement I would have yo say if talks like a duck and walks like a duck guess what its a duck so stop quacking..

Complaining about it won't change anything. It is the cable clowns who think they are so worthy of big $$$ that do shabby work, cut corners and give the rest of the true cable professionals poor reputations. They mess up the good paying jobs with their antics, no wonder pay gets low - unfortunately, it's the old adage - one bad apple spoils the bunch. Guess it applies everywhere.

The prices they are able to pay is indicative of what they were willing to compromise to get the contract or get the job done. I realize that differant parts of the country have differant costs of living so it is really hard to judge what a fair wage is without knowing the cost of living in the area of the job or the particulars of the job being offered. You're right that there is a lot of complaining on this site, that's because this business is doing the same thing it did in the late eighties, the people that maintain their personal standards will get through this with their integrity intact and come out on top when it picks back up because they didn't associate their names with groups that would drag them down. This is not meant to be an attack on any one person, just observation from someone whose has been on both sides of the pole.
