So, the FCC says you have to have an EAS system by Oct 2, 2002. If you are not up to par...all systems from 1 subscriber to 5999, are in the final year of being able to operate without without an Emergency Alert System.
Well, you have some options. To meet bare requirements, you must be able to receive an alert and pass it on to your subscribers. There are relatively 5 solutions you can use to meet these requirements, but why not consider adding an EAS system that can generate some revenue for you. It's just an idea. Well...Cable Constructors, INC is proud to be available for consultation, installation, and material sales. We offer a some different options to help make you legal, and allow you to pass FCC inspections without fines.
Consider this. The FCC is out inspecting. At a recent SCTE meeting, I had heard several examples of FCC inspectors dropping by for immediate inspections. Fine's for not complying with this law are about $5,000 and on top you will have 90 days to install your EAS. Ask yourself, would you like to just buy the EAS, or add another $5,000 to your cost?
