> Responsibilities
>
> Provide overall management direction for large programs requiring multiple projects and sites. Plan, implement and manage fiber optic / coax cable outside installation and upgrade programs, requiring aerial and underground installation, fiber splicing, sweep certification, system balance, test and certification. Manage Project Managers to ensure that customer CATV systems are constructed, enhanced, certified and completed to specifications and according to plan.

> Functional Tasks:
> 1. Review pre-installation material, contract specifications, engineering design, aerial and underground maps and objectives.
> 2. Plan, implement and manage aerial and underground cable installation programs.
> 3. Ensure that all necessary staff, equipment and material necessary for project completion are determined and secured.
> 4. Communicate schedules and deliverables to each site.
> 5. Provide day to day management of the construction contractor's Project Managers.
> 6. Provide daily interface with the customer to establish and satisfy customer needs and objectives
> 7. Monitor progress to schedule and control spending to satisfy budget and profit margin requirements.
> 8. Execute plans and strategies to achieve business objectives
> 9. Develop, implement and maintain project quality control and assurance practices
> 10. Ensure that work is performed in compliance with OSHA and FCC regulations.
> 11. Travel within region.

> Deliverables
> 1. Satisfy engineering objectives, meeting technical, regulatory & quality assurance requirements
> 2. Ensure the Completion of milestones within schedule and budget.
> 3. Achieve desired profit margins.

> Key Customer Interactions
> Serves as a representative to corporate ,local customer management and engineers.
> Ensure customer satisfaction by communicating progress. Ensure that customer objectives are met.

> Requirements
>
> Experience
> 1. Seasoned construction executive with experience managing programs, multiple projects and customer relations, from proposal to completion.
> 2. Program and Project management experience in managing large CATV or telephony HFC installations including multiple outside aerial and underground fiber optic / coax cable installation projects in multiple locations.
> 3. Experience as primary representative to corporate customers.
> 4. Experience being responsible for the financial performance of large programs.
> 5. Fully functional, able to work autonomously, could assume more responsibility.
>
> Technical Knowledge
> 1. Thorough understanding of the CATV / telephony industry, applicable technologies, customer plans, current and future customer needs.
> 2. Thorough knowledge of outside, aerial and underground fiber optic / coax cable installation, construction, equipment requirements, technologies employed, aerial construction methods, standards, NEC codes (European codes a plus), underground construction methods and standards, safety, sweep certification, fiber splicing, headend equipment installation and test and certification of all inside and outside systems.
> 3. Active knowledge of the technologies employed in these industries is required. Knowledge may have been gained through engineering / technical education or technical company training.
> 4. Working knowledge of CATV/TELCOM engineering and construction to including, fiber optics and coax cable installation and test, Sonet and fiber ring installation and test, HDT (headend digital terminal) and RF technology, equipment installation techniques and technologies.
> 5. General knowledge of engineering broadband communications systems incorporating RF, Microwave, Coaxial, Fiber Optic, CATV, Telephony & Data subsystems.
> 6. Sufficient familiarity with Inside / Outside Plant system requirements including engineering design and implementation for Analog and Digital CATV headend, Broadband HFC design concepts, fiber design (mechanical), engineering design and implementation for HFC networks, fibre optic transport systems, cable RF modem systems, Cable RF Telephony systems, Cable sweep systems, HP, Tektronix CATV Analyzers,Wavetek, Calan Sweep Systems and Sonet and fiber ring testing.
