My wife (who works for the IRS / Nexus) says the best place to start is "The Secretary of State" Usually listed in the Blue pages of the local phone book. Sometimes there is a listing of City offices that say "Contractors" permits. licenses...etc.
It's a little different for each State.
But, just for those that are not aware?????????
Nexus is the side of the IRS that's NEW! They are in each state going after the "Contractor's" working out of state in their state! And they DO COLLECT!
