Re: DHIVEHINET VIRUS ALERT SERVICE

To clear things up:

The DHIVEHINET mail server is sending erroneous virus reports. Out of the 500+ mail servers that our newsletter was sent to, it was the only one that responded like that. We are confident that the Symplex Newsletter DID NOT contain any virus.

The DHIVEHINET server sent a reply to “ (-REDACTED-) ”. Due to an oversight, this virus alert email came into our mail server, and was then distributed back out to the list. The email that you probably received was as follows:

Sent: Tuesday, February 26, 2002 12:03 AM
To: (-REDACTED-)
Subject: VIRUS IN MAIL FOR YOU FROM (-REDACTED-)

V I R U S A L E R T
DHIVEHINET VIRUS ALERT SERVICE
Our viruschecker found the
'W32/Magistr-B'
virus(es) in an email to you from:
(-REDACTED-)
Delivery of the email was stopped!
The sender of the email has been notified accordingly.
_______________

We have locked it down so that it will not happen again.

To clarify, the Symplex Newsletter DID NOT contain a virus.

Sorry for the confusion.
