I think the offer has expired.I went to Australia in December of 1996, as a construction consultant for Vision Cables. Vision Cables produced coax cable. Commscope Cable, and Olex Cable (of Australia), were on a joint venture, using Commscope's experiance to set up a factory in Australia. I was there for three monthes, and in that time I found they wanted Americans to teach only, the contracts were for the Australians only; they did not want Americans takeing their jobs. People were not hooking up to cable, most of the work had been completed, and they won't let you in the country to do work that Australians can do. Sincerely, John S Mulqueen. I am looking for CATV work in Australia. A long time ago I saw an add in a Cable Mag. hiring workers in Australia on a 3 yr contract and if you stayed the full 3 yrs you got the $$$ tax free. Has anyone heard of this or know of any place??
