Sensible plan. That hold a lot of promise towards success. Your comment about protecting yourself, there is little you can do except research the company your going to work for AND the people you receive comments from on your research.
Overall the best protection is quality workmanship and that is something you have to build internal to your company. Training and supervision get quality production, in theory you get paid for quality production.
Be fair to yourself first when it comes to prices. Never take a job on unless it pay's well enough to pay you, your crews, your bills AND makes a profit. To many guys think their profit is their pay.
>Giving serious thought into opening own splicing business, primarily concentrating on MDU applications with possibly some light U/G work included. Would eventually like to branch off with a small splicing crew. Need help in all aspects of starting this out, ie.. contracting, employee pay, pricing, and what precautions i should be taking to protect both the employees and I. Looking to start small and gradually expand. I know this is asking for a lot of information but would appreciate any and all "constructive" advice and guidance. I can be reached via email ............ (-REDACTED-)
