I'm an IT professional with no experience in cable except where it regards my cable modem. Here is what has happened. My local cable company (Comcast--we subscribe to their digital system) has just upgraded our service (added new channels). I now fail to receive some channels that came in fine before. I had them out to look at the problem, and they say I will now need an amplifier. Not too wurprising, I'm at least 500 feet from the road. My question, then (thought I'd never get to it, huh?) is what do I need to know about to make an informed decision on what kind of amplifier to by. Note that they will install one for 80 bucks, it just bugs me to have to pay to fix something that they changed. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
