Re:INFO NEEDED

>I WAS WONDERING IF SOMEONE COULD HELP ME OUT?I AM SPLICING USING SA GAINMAKER GEAR AND THE COMPANY THAT IM DOING THE WORK FOR IS SUBSTITUTING SA LO GAIN AMPS FOR SA LE'S.WHAT I WAS WONDERING IS,WILL THEY FUNCTION THE SAME IF I USE INTERNAL OR EXTERNAL SPLITTERS?I THINK IT WOULD FUNCTION THE SAME BUT I WOULD PREFER MORE INFO TO BE SURE.THANKS FOR ANY HELP AND PLEASE NO HOTSHOTS,WE'RE ALL HERE TO HELP I HOPE. Yes, the results will be the same. Signal is amplified, corrected, split and sent on to the desired destination. that would be electronically speaking. Physically speaking they may cry a little. Once you cut in the Lo/Gain with HSG-to-HSG, and a splitter or coulpler you probably won't have the length in cable you will need to ever go back to an internal installation of the feedermakers. There is a loop-hole hear that should save you from any gigs and that is the fact that noone said anything about substituting internal equipment for the external that the design would have shown with the LE's. It is something that you should have probably done. From now I would always replace the LE and it's external components with the LO/Gain and it's internal feedermakers. Or atleast make the customer decide before you go out there. Whats done is done and if you have already cut some amps in with external equipment you will need keep straight jumpers inside the amp so you are not splitting any signal before it leaves the amp going to whatever external equipment you have on the HSG-to-HSG. You will also want to terminate FWD and RTRN Pad locations for any unoccupied legs, or ports on the amp so you are not creating any unnecessary reflection and/or distortion in the following sweep traces. I have not worked with any SA Equipment since Detroit,1988 so I am not competely certain about terminating any of the forward pad locations. I am fairly confident about the reverse inputs, though. Terminate the unoccupied with terminating pads. Hope this helps.
