JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision monitors, reviews and reports on installation, service and construction work for in-house and contractors. Applies installation and construction service standards in reviewing work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
Contribute to the Company vision of being the industry leader in customer service through quality, commitment, courtesy and teamwork
Perform onsite inspections of cable construction to ensure full compliance with Company quality standards
Verify footages and tasks for billing purposes
Route coaxial and fiber cables, compile footages, clearances, create maps and feasibility of routes
Monitor, log, repair and submit all system signal leaks identified in work; verify findings
Resolve customer problems and investigate plant damage claims
Perform other duties as requested by supervisor
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring devices
Ability to adhere to Local, Federal regulations and Company policies
Ability to carry, climb and operate extension ladder, (approx. 28 ft high and 75 pounds)
Ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires
Ability to dig in all types of soil
Ability to drive Company vehicle in a safe and responsible manner
Ability to manipulate connectors, fasteners, wires, and use hand tools
Ability to perform job from high places (i.e. poles and roofs)
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
Ability to read general system layouts from blueprints
Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
Ability to walk over all types of terrain in all kinds of weather while carrying tools and equipment, including gaffs, ladders, and fully loaded tool belts
Ability to work independently
Ability to work while standing 50 - 70% of the time
Knowledge of basic mathematics and electronics
Knowledge of cable television products and services
Knowledge of National Electric Code and National Electrical Safety Code
Vision ability: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
B. Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
NCTI and/or vocational electronic course work or equivalent
C. Related Work Experience
CATV construction or technical work experience - 1 year
D. Certifications and/or Licenses
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record within Company required standards
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Exposure to dust, dirt, noise, insects, cleaning solutions
Work and travel in inclement weather
Work near power lines and electricity
Work outdoors in all kinds of weather and at all times of the day or night
