Re:Beware!!! Be very aware!!!!

sorry you had to learn the hard way that bad people work for good companies. but at least you learned that not all are bad tho...good luck.

>We are a small contracting co. working in south Tx. The owner of this co. was working on an amp in rear easement when he was approached by a Q.C. guy. The Q.C. guy wanted him to sign off on a "safety inspection" that he had performed without him knowing it.He signed it and the Q.C. guy left.A fellow employee stoped the Q.C. guy down the street and told him where the other guys on the crew were working. As he leaned on the truck he noticed a Sadelco meter in the back that looked just like the co,s.He didnt click on anything at this time. When the owner finished the amp location he went to the bucket van to get the meter to activate the amp. His meter was gone. He began asking the crew as he came across them if they had borrowed it. When he asked the guy that saw it he told the owner just what he saw.He said the Q.C.guy had stopped and as soon as the guy had seen the meter he put his prints on top of it and put his saftey cone on top of the prints, and quickly went for his cooler saying he was thirsty. But the cooler was empty so he said he had to go and get a drink. there was another Q.C. guy that was in the truck asleep while all of this was happening. The truck pulled off and left the area. As soon as the owner of the company found out this information he called Time Warner and talked to the Splicing Supervisor. The Supervisor asked the owner to keep the QC guy there. He was in route to come out and inspect the truck, however the truck had completely left the area and was no where to be seen. Later that day when the truck went back to the shop it was searched and there was no meter to be found. The owner of the company said that if the guys would take a polygraph test that he would pay for it, if they passed. Time Warner however, said that they could not do that. So now the company is without this meter. The next day the QC guy that was asleep in the truck came back out to the field and approched the owner and asked exactly what went down. The owner told the story of what his guy had seen and the QC guy said that he thought it was strange that the other guy had stopped down the road to get his prints out of the back of the truck and that they had not blown out. Also, he thought that it was strange that they left that node and went to another node and met with another contractor when they had no business being there. The Time Warner Supervisor verified that Time Warner does not use Sadelco meters in QC. Therefore, we know that the meter that was seen in the QC truck was definitely ours. There is a reward for the return of this meter, no questions asked. We believe the QC guy that was asleep is innocent and had no knowledge of this taking place. However, the other guy is most definitely a thief! This was a major loss for our small company. This story is to inform all my fellow contractors that you should lock up all your tools, because you can't even trust representatives of the cable companies that you work for. For info on the reward, please email me at (-REDACTED-) . It's sad when an honest man doing a honest days work has his tools of his trade stolen and can't get any help in their return. BEWARE BE VERY AWARE!!! Thanks, The CblShark.
