Utility Coordinator - Northern California


CHARTER COMMUNICATIONS - CALIFORNIA GROUP (Sacramento, CA)

JOB SUMMARY:
To coordinate and participate in the development, implementation and control of pole attachment compliance, make ready surveys related to Upgrade and/or Rebuild projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
Contribute to the Company vision of being the industry leader in customer service through quality, commitment, courtesy and teamwork

Coordinates and participates in PUC reviews of outside plant facilities, and implements strategy for compliance to Charter Communications, PUC, NESC as well as local utility and municipal pole attachment rules and regulations.

Compiles and maintains information to substantiate compliance with outside plant placement and clearance standards. Implement tracking mechanisms to communicate compliance success and opportunities.

Interface with internal departments, utility companies and city, county, and state public works organizations to complete mutual and individual goals.

Provide detailed cost estimates for proposed projects to bring OSP facilities into compliance.

Plan and establish priorities in keeping with effective operations and cost factors as it relates to the successful business operations and mutual benefit of outside entities that regulate pole attachment standards.

Review and analyze service, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with specifications.

Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.

A. Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to adhere to Local, Federal regulations and Company policy
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
Ability to supervise and motivate others
Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
Knowledge of cable television products and services
Vision ability: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus

B. Education
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience

C. Related Work Experience
OSP construction experience - 3 years
Utility asset management knowledge - 3 years
Management experience - 2 years

D. Certifications and/or Licenses
Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record within Company required standards and auto insurance

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Office environment
Exposure to dust, dirt, noise, insects, cleaning solutions
Work and travel in inclement weather
Work performed near power lines and electricity
