I worked for GTS as a subcontract fiber splicer from December of 1999 until just recently when they ran out of work, and have nothing but good to say about them. I would work for them again in a heartbeat, but am in the position of having to compete against in-house crews for limited work. Also, let me say that until the industry slowdown hit, they never had any trouble keeping me in work, and they always seemed to have the next project on the horizon.
GTS's project managers are some of the best I have had the pleasure to work for in the 8 years I've been doing this, and the "big cheese" types in Atlanta are competent and responsive. I had a dustup with a project manager in an isolated incident based on a misunderstanding (pretty minor in hindsight), and the upper level management straightened it out without taking sides or assigning blame until checking out both sides. Very fair.
Overall, an excellent organization for people who do what they say they will do, and keep whining to a bare minimum.
