Re:Cable Lingo / Slang Terms

Hey, listen pal, we could use some education as well. We are a directional boring contractor. We know our business cold but it is always nice to know how your service fits into the big picture. We know our HDD (horizontal directional drilling) acronyms and terminology, but don't always understand the lingo of "seasoned field outside plant construction personnel" (particularly aerial) and how they refer to various equipment or procedures. We feel like we can occasionally be valuable contributors to this board. Knowledge about where and what is happening in this business is valuable and we could sure make better use of it if we immediately knew what info was being communicated.

Any help in getting the right clue appreciated.
