I'm glad to see that at least some of us care enough to do our jobs properly. It doesn't save time, and it causes problems for everyone splicing around you. I even pull shunts and fuses when I splice, and then turn power on and activate. I'll setup the amp or le, then I'll fuse each leg one at a time. If I'm feeding someone else, I check his leg for a short and see if he's ready for power before sending it to him. I rather be safe then sorry. It saves a hell of a lot of troubleshooting and keeps me out of easments after dark. Besides when we upgrade a system it should work and look better than it did before we touch it. That's what we are getting paid to do.
