Let's start a discussion about this subject. I think it would be beneficial to all, let's get everyone opinion on this. I'd rather not cut hot for the following reasons: damage done to coring tools and cable cutters, damage done to the cable, and the damage it may cause to the power supply and other equipment. I know certain amps can be damaged if spliced in while the cable is powered.
Cutting cable hot.
