Reverse Specialist - REDDING, CA


CHARTER COMMUNICATIONS - REDDING, CA

JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, responsible to maintain the integrity and improve the performance of the 5 to 40 MHz portion of all two-way system plant. Support the Preventative Maintenance group, and assist supervisor with various system and headend return issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
Contribute to the Company vision of being the industry leader in customer service through quality, commitment, courtesy and teamwork

Monitor forward signal quality and return activity on a daily basis

Interact with Headend and system personnel to resolve reverse signal problems from the home converter to the main headend; monitor and direct work activities of system personnel

Troubleshoot software issues related to the maintenance of cable service

Log performance records and maintain all reverse activity of two-way fiber optic nodes

Communicate with customers concerning return issues and service calls

Schedule service calls concerning PPV Collections and other return network performance issues

Review non-responding converter report; support the Converter

Repair department concerning PPV collections; support

Dispatch with controller functions

Complete all reports and paperwork

Perform other tasks and duties as required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to listen to and interpret the needs of the customer and to demonstrate courtesy and patience
Ability to perform basic mathematical procedures
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
Ability to reach with hands and arms, to bend, to talk and hear, and to read and use a computer
Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
Ability to use personal computer and software applications (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet, etc.)
Ability to use, handle and manipulate objects such as paper, pencils, keyboard, and mouse
Ability to wear telephone headset
Ability to work independently
Ability to work while seated for prolonged periods of time
in customer relations
Knowledge and ability to use the following office equipment: computer, telephone, copier, fax, calculator, stapler and send and receive e-mail
Knowledge of cable operations
Vision ability: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus

B. Education
High School Diploma or equivalent
Post High School Training in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience

C. Related Work Experience
Cable work experience - 6 mos

D. Certifications and/or Licenses

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Exposure to occasional extreme weather conditions
Exposure to dust
Exposure to moderate noise levels
Office environment
