This made me smile.
When I went thru Lutheran confirmation, my first year was with Pastor Opsahl. He could handle my inquisitiveness & did not consider any doubts I expressed as heresy.
We moved & my 2nd year I went to another Wisconsin synod church in the next town from where we now lived {my 1st church was 75 miles away}. When this Pastor asked me if I had faith in the holy words of the bible, I responded honestly that I had faith in Jesus.
The Pastor said what about the bible? I said I had trouble trusting the men who translated the bible. The Pastor looked thoughtful & then resumed the lesson for the day.
When my father came to pick me up, the Pastor took him aside & told dad that I'd be a better fit at the church in our new town. When dad grilled me on the ride home & explained what transpired. Dad said "this is probably for the better."
