Simple. Only take jobs that make money. If the job pays below cost AND profit, renegotiate the price(s). If they won't increase the price(s), refuse to work for Shit Prices! If you can't make money in this business, you can always choose another career path. I know it is easier said than done but going broke is harder.
Remember, you will be money ahead doing nothing than if you take a job where you are loosing money.
