Just a thought. Maybe you know maybe not. But dry fiber is still dirty. Some dry fiber has like a thin film of oil on it.  I clean all fiber with alchohol before splicing. Clean it just as if there is gel on it.  If you are not doing this you will be surprised at how dirty it actually is and see it on your wipe.   Also arc check for changing temp and humidity. Try to keep your machine temp as close to ambient temp to keep lens from fogging.  If your going from AC to outdoor that will happen.
