Re: Drop bury price

I dont know enough about you particular job to be able to give you any kind of a guess on pricing.  But I will say that drops are a PITA.  They should pay the highest of any buried unit but usually do not.   Your first truck roll will be to mark the path for the locators, the second truck roll will be to bury the drop, which may include boring sidewalks & patios, locating invisible dog fences, septic tank & drain fields, automatic water sprinklers, private gas & electric lines, maneuvering around trees, flowers & gardens, fences, gates too small to get a machine into the yard, dogs, cats, backyard pet cemeteries, fire wood piles, just to mention a few obstacles. Your third truck roll will be to repair everything you hit and did not know it, maybe months later.

Make sure you build enough in to your price to cover all your costs.  Which will include at least the following: pickups, trailers, drop machine, bore machine, locators, gas, oil, tires, repairs, phone, internet, labor, workers compensation, General Liability insurance, payroll, payroll taxes, income tax, FUTA, SUTA, licensing fees, lodging, yard damage claims, law suites, and last but not least your profit margin.  Im not trying to scare you, rather I am just letting you know what you ate getting into.  My best advice is: DO NOT UNDER BID THIS OR ANY JOB.  BID IT TO MAKE MONEY!  Good luck.
